Besides kidney or UTI infection, add in possibly the beginning of Cushings. To the Vet you go for a diagnosis.

    Hi gang!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Chipper's temp, kidney and liver functions are normal, but he does have a UTI. Poor boy. He's on pills for the next 10 days. His hot spot on his neck turned out to be a fungal infection so I have some medicated shampoo to put on it as well.

Kia's temp is normal and she appears well. We suspect she's not caring for the heat or she's just feeling picky. Dr. Kuschel gave me a couple of cans of ID to give her to see if it boosts her appetite. (She gobbled some up at the vets so it appears she's being picky )

They got their nails trimmed as well. Kia was a trooper but Chipper had to be muzzled. He's not a fan of the nail trim.

Whew, I'm glad it's nothing worse. Miss Kia's just being a diva, because she can. And poor Chip, but he'll be feeling better in no time. Belly rubs to both!

And Miss Kia, are you taking after Jack these days? He's been extremely finicky when it comes to food time too the last couple days.

Oh good, glad to see this update Kimmy! My collie Willie used to get UTIs off and on. He seemed to get them worse on some foods than others, I had to switch a few times. Easy to treat, though the prescription food/meds can be expensive! Glad to hear Kia checked out too. Tash used to become disinterested in her food now and then, especially in the summer. She never leaves her raw though, I guess that's yummy enough to keep her interested

Chipper's getting better. Not nearly drinking as much or going out as often like he was. He did have two accidents in the house though. Once last night before I got home and once today. No warning on that one. I was in the bathroom, he swung his head in, turned around and peed in the hallway.

Kia is still being really picky. She'll eat the wet food but won't touch the dry (much to Chipper's delight ). Andy's going to give her tuna and rice tonight.

    Doggie Urinating a lot

My past experience with both a CAT and a DOG... suddenly urinating a lot... drinking a lot.... etc was that of diabetes... I finally had to get the BOX(s) of SMALL(not large) diabetes needles and inject them twice a day with a small amount of Insulin(which I purchased at Sam's Club).....

NOW...the dog urinating in the house all of a sudden.. That could be caused by either(or both): a) the onslaught of diabetes and/or b) if you recently left your doggie in a kennel. Leaving a dog in a kennel forces them to urinate and doo-doo IN their kennel so when they go HOME, they carry that temporary trait with them so they have to be re-trained to go outside when they want to do their business.

Diabetes is not the end of the world but the problem is giving them injections twice a day...whatever you do (if you have to start giving injections) is to buy the big box of SMALL NEEDLES....

Glad it turned out to be something simple to fix. Hope he's feeling better soon!

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.
