Hopefully Anna will recover just fine. Bon is a Mastiff, one bite is all it takes to do that damage. She grabbed his collar in the middle of a dog fight. We all know that is a bad thing to do, probably the worst place to grab a dog, especially when they are fighting, but in the heat of the moment you don't think about right and wrong places to grab, you just go in to stop the fight. Yes she was bitten badly. That does NOT make Bon a bad dog. Of course the trust is broken, or at the very least damaged, but its not irreparable. Anna wil do what is best for them all and I somehow don't think that includes rehoming Bon. He doesn't just run around biting. And honestly nobody knows exactly what happened, even Anna wouldn't know everything, those things happen too fast. She made a mistake, Bon made a mistake, Anna got hurt.

I honestly just don't think it helps someone to say "maybe it's time to rehome the dog" when they are dealing with something like this. She loves her dogs and this is very trauamtic. I'm sure if she felt like she needed to do it she wouldn't need suggestions from anyone here. I jsut know if I was in her place it would upset me to see someone telling me maybe I should rehome my dog that I love because we both made a mistake. I am not belittling the bite, it's very bad, but he didn't pull her down and maul her. It was one incident. I'm sure she will do what is best.
