I know it's hard to wait when you're worried about your baby.
Sometimes it does get very crazy at a vets office, not only having regular appointments and surgeries, but walk in emergencies. While I know your Emerson is your first priority sometimes they have to take a kind of 'triage' stance with emergencies. If someone brought in a dog that was hit by a car and bleeding profusly, or a dog in respiratory distress, I'm sure they'd have to take care of those first seeing as it's life or death immediately situations. Seeing as they are obviously working after hours I'm sure they will call you as soon as they know something, you'll just need to be patient a little longer.
