Big article in our newspaper today. (Westminster barely gets coverage normally, and definitely NOT before hand. Usually, there is a tiny blurb about the winner of Best in Show, buried in the Sports section.)

Judge for Best in Show is from Narragansett, RI. He is chief of cardiac surgery at Miram Hospital in Providence - the only hospital either Dad or I has ever been to here. They did an indepth intereview with photos of him judging and in the surgery theatre. One photo shows him in a breed ring awarding the blue ribbon last year - with a bichon! I think I like this guy already!!!

So now I need to look for the judge of the terrier group, Dr. Meen, and the judge of Best in Show (THAT one won't be hard to remember!), Dr. Robert Indeglia.

    Starts tonight *anticipatory wiggle*

8 PM Eastern on U.S.A. Network. Here is today's schedule:
    GROUP JUDGING:
Best of Group competition will be judged in the following order beginning at 8PM:
    Working
    Terrier
    Toy
    Non-Sporting

I enjoy the Working group because some of these breeds serve as helper dogs for blind and disabled people. I enjoy the Non-Sporting group because the dogs are all so different from each other. I enjoy the terriers because of their terrier determination. The toy group cracks me up because they're petite! I just like the whole show because I want one of almost every dog and I always learn something from the commentary.

Does anyone know if they show the junior handling competition? I think it's neat that the kids can learn to do this. I wonder how the judging works for that and I would love to see the kids in person some day as they show what they've learned.

Hug your dogs for me, please, everybody. Paws and fingers crossed for West Highland Terrier because we have a friend who has one.
Praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine, and around the world.

I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!
Brrrr, I've been Frosted! Thank you, Asiel and Pomtzu!

Dr.Meen is filling in for Annie Rodgers Clark who died about two months ago. You have to be a major hi-caliber judge for westminster because of international dogs..

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but if you go to their website, they have a cute little video of all these dogs jumping. I love the Bichon's. They're so cute when they jump - like snowflakes.
