Lot of sporting breeds in this area because MN has a lot of outdoorsmen, fishing/hunting etc types. Labs, goldens, springers, setters, pointers etc. Plenty of German Shepherds too.

This isn't really a breed in particular but we have SO many Toy dogs on my block alone. I know of 2 shi-zus(sp?), 2 westies, my dog, and bunch of poodles. We have lots of mutts around here to. My nieghbor has one, Jenna has Rusty, My former friend has two, 3 people down the block have them. One women has about 4 English Setters. Another person has a springer Spaniel and he is absolutley beautiful! I don't know anymore, really. But this is on my block alone.

border collies are VERY common around here within I know at least 9 border collies around my house alone, there was another 2 that moved a few months ago, they are far more common then Goldens over here, I will never forget walking my BCs and my friends golden a someone goes "those 2 are BCs but what is the other one?" lol next to BCs I would say German Shepherds, then Huskys, then Mutts, then labs....

Border collies are probably the most popular in the area. Big dogs are very "in" around here. On any given walk through the neighborhood you will see labs, pitties, anatolians, great danes, st bernards, bernese mt dogs, newfies. Plus you see the typical numbers of mini schnauzers, poodles, cockers, shih tzus, and small mixes. We also get a lot of rare breeds like Chinese foo dogs, cresteds, buhunds, afghans, and all the water spaniel types.

On my block there's only a few other dogs and they are mixes. When we walk to the park down the street there are quite a few labs, mixes, and german shepards. I think bigger dogs that are seen as "outdoorsy" are popular here.
