I too would trust this new doctor. A lot of things can change from month to month, and that is why he did the ultrasound right then and there, and the fact that he did it right away makes me feel comfortable with him......he didn't make you wait for a test he thought was important.

Having worked in the medical field, I know for a fact that doctors WILL work with you on payments. Sometimes, and this is very rare, but it does happen, they will only charge you for use of equipment and not their time, but like I said, this is rare.

Tests today are unfortunetly as only good as the tech that preforms them. If you get a tech that has been doing ultrasounds for the last 20 years, he/she will know what to look for, whereas the tech that has been doing it for the last 5 years, is not quite experienced. Also, some clinics only do preliminary screenings, not full tests - BIG difference.

Go back to this doctor, with your husband, and tell him what you have told us here and more. Explain your finances to them (remember they are humans too!) and have them double check with your insurance on what is and what is not covered. If you want to be extra positive, YOU call your insurance and recheck them.

Make sure you are fully informed on what the proceedure will be, and what to expect from it. ASK it is your body, you have a right to know!!!!

Don't be like my father!........Dad: Went to the doctor's today, he gave me these pills to take twice a day. Me: what are the pills for? D: I don't know, he told me to take them. M: what is wrong with you? D: I don't know, the doctor said I have to take these pills. M: well, there must be something wrong with you or he wouldn't have given you these pills now, right? D: I guess so. M: so, call the doctor and find out what is wrong D: NO! I can't bother him...........and so on to the point where I want to scream!!! LOL

My family doctor is the only doctor I will go to for anything. I need his opinion first. I trust him. He also will tell me around how much things will cost, he starts with what is cheaper. He understands that not everyone makes as much money as he does. He is a very understanding man, he is very passionate about what he does.

I guess what I am trying to say is, if you don't care for your doctor then switch. If you do like him stay with him and ask him to send you to another gyno. That's what he is there for. He is there to help you. We pay them so much money, they need to do their work. If you are not happy with something he wants to do, tell him how you feel. Tell him why you feel that way. Maybe there is something he can do to help you feel better about things and the situation.
