In my area, grocery store meat is all I can afford pretty much. I'd love to feed free-range/hormone free/etc. meat but it is SO expenisve in my area. Sure I get GREAT deals from my butcher but thats mainly on organs and scraps and the like. If I want (and I do need it) meaty bones like chicken quarters & the like I have to buy from grocery stores.Originally Posted by wolf_Q
I am sure that if I could buy more in bulk I could get cheaper prices on "good" meaty bones from my butchers but I'm gonna need a chest freezer before that happens.
For dinner last night they each got:
a couple tablespoons of ground beef, 1 egg & shells & 2-3 chicken heart/liver/gizzard all mixed up (some don't really care for chicken organs & we have to "hide" them in meals)
a chicken quarter
This morning for breakfast they each got:
a turkey leg, a couple bites of yogurt and a couple bites of sardines
