Autumn barks when she is inside, but goes up and greets our normal mail carrier outside. When we have a sub mail person she doesn't bother with them.

Malakai LOVES our mailman..err mailwoman she has 2 danes at home so is quite partial to malakai, she usually has a treat for him so he likes her that much more! Now chloe on the other hand..must be jealousy or somthing, she barks and barks and BARKS at her..

Sassy can care less unless they go near the house. If he drops off a package or something she'll bark and two hours later FINALLY stop. She sits by the window and waits to watch him/her leave. Good guard dog, eh?

my dogs have never met the mailman lol before Misty broke the old front dooreverytime the mail came is was bark bark bark bark for a good 15 minutes every day(the was glass down to the floor) but when we replaced the door that Misty broke, we had it custom made with a window on on the top, so the dogs dont even notice unless the lid happens to be really squeaky, or the mailman is sick and there is a replacement that walks right onto the front porch to drop in the mail(our mailman cuts down the barking by walking up the side, reaching over the rail and dropping in the box, so the dogs dont hear him on the porch and they cant see him through the window)

ahh! why did I say mailmans?? yeah, mail lady, I had two that dressed up like a guy.

wow, I never knew that there were maildrivers.. do they just come up in their little white boxy and all of you have mailbox on sidewalk? now is that why they have no door on right? or not the only reason?

next time I'll add that option!
rest and sleep softly sweet locke..

Delilah never used to have problems with the mailman, because back in MA our house had a very long driveway to get to the mailbox, and she didn't have access to it. However, since we moved we've had some nasty experiences with the mail-woman, our mail usually comes a day late now, and written on letters we see the date written and "dog", She's even threatened to stop delivering our mail because she feels Delilah is a threat to her, when anyone walks by our home..she runs to them and barks aggressivly, now she can't have free roam of the yard until after the mail comes. She is very protective of us, when we were new in town, a neighbor came by..asking us if she bit, before we could answer the old man stuck his hand in the fence and pat her! She did nip him but he didn't mind..he said he had GSD's before and ect. It definitely takes her awhile to get used to someone, we've been living here for a little over a year and she is still weary of our neighbor, who comes to our yard all the time, and even gives her biscuits through the fence.

Thanks Anita Cholaine for the awesome siggy!

I would never let my dogs roam freely so I can't imagine how they'd pose a threat to a mailman.

Sydney and Reggie bark at them sometimes from the window but they bark at anybody, they wouldn't actually bite them. Nebo doesn't care, he doesn't bark at people, and he'd likely run away from a mailman he's usually a chicken with strangers.
