But I do understand what you are saying. Thanks Sarah!
In that case I shall give raw tripe a miss.
Snowy gets dried tripe anyway on occassions as a treat.

They had boneless beef this morning. Not sure what they're getting for dinner yet.
The dogs were nawtee today, someone got into a pizza that had only 2 slices taken out and finished it off.. i think it might have been Tinny. As we were at the beach all day the dogs just got some chicken quarters & beef liver when we got home.

The pups had chicken quarters & beef liver last night.
This morning they had a very small amount of boneless beef (just got about 50lbs of it for free last night) with some cottage cheese & an egg & shell each.
Tonight will be beef.
I decided to continue to feed twice a day. But I am feeding a larger meal at night & just a snack in the morning. Except on weekends when I have more time (and I like to keep the amount of food & variety of meats varied) they may get a little larger breakfast & a little smaller dinner.
I wanted to add that almost every day (will be everyday once my "orders" with some local butchers start building up their stock for me) they get chicken feet &/or beef tracheas. I usually give these as a snack, about 1-3 hours before or after a meal. Right now because my supply is limited it is mainly just Nanook & Raustyk that get these. They are both great sources of glucosamine & chondrotin, great for joint problems!

Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.
Yep, I give three chicken feet to Nova every day for prevention of HD and ED symptoms, and Mandy gets 3+ for arthritis depending on the activity that she gets that day (if she swims she gets 5 or 6). All of the dogs eat them like potato chips! Mandy chooses chicken feet over fish, which must mean they are really good!Originally Posted by lv4dogs
Do you get tracheas from your butcher?
Yuppers. So far it's the only place I can find them. I have a few butchers saving them for me (my one main butcher is too busy to save me a bunch of stuff right now which is why my supply is very low right now, happens every summer with him, but I think I found someone a lot better, he may soon be my ex-main butcher). It is something you will probably have to talk to your butcher about saving them for you as it's normally just scrap to them. But even so, some butchers are able to special order it for you, but thats usually a bit more expensive.Originally Posted by .sarah
Pet & feed stores often have the smoked tracheas, most commonly distributed by Merrick, but raw is much much much better.
If you think your guys go bonkers over the feet wait till you feed the tracheas, they are my dogs all time favorite food.

I know my butcher carries tracheas, I have to get some now! I'm going today or tomorrow, it's Gonzo's B-day this weekend so I want to get him something extra-special. He loves duck & goose, so he'll probably get some of that too.
I finally took pictures of a meal =0)
On the menu today: Pork ribs, pork meat, chicken livers, & chicken neck.
Mmm liver!
I hold chicken necks for him, he loves them but I have to make sure he chews it well.
Eating his pork meat, this is probably his favorite meat. Yeah... I took this just to show off his super-shiney coat!
Gonzo gets his rib (as Fozzie attempts to steal it). You can tell Gonzo LOVES these, too.
