Sadie and Maggie had some cut up chicken and Grant got a steak. Hubby was a little upset, he said "Why can't I have the steak?" Told him he could eat it, if he ate it raw.

Yay, Simba is going to be SO happy.

The meat market my mom is working at also sells produce. My mom brought how two bunches of bananas that are fine but too brown to sell, as well as some baby carrots.

Simba doesn't really like to eat his veggie/fruit mixture unless it has a bit of banana in it. He LOVES banana puree.

The pups split a chicken quarter and some llama. Kaedyn also got some tripe because Kai was a brat and took most of Kaedyn's food when I wasn't looking.

Lastnight they had 2 small chicken frames each (1 earlier in the evening to quiet them down a bit hehe), they also had sardines, sardine oil, Livamol and Flax seed.

Tonight they have lamb, and they will get their supplements as usual.

They finished off the lamb for dinner lastnight, and had some carrot and their supplements. They had some natural yogurt last night and the night before and loved it.

For those who have only just recently switched to RAW how are you and your dogs coping? I hope all is going well, and the dogs are enjoying their food.

    Okay, lemme back-track.

On the 22nd and 23rd they had chicken quarters.

On the 24th they had a pig ear, Buck also had some pork.

Yesterday they had beef heart, an egg, and chicken gizzards for breakfast. For dinner Buck had some beef brisket and the girls had some trout.

Today so far Mandy and Nova have had chicken feet, Luka had a pig ear, and Buck had a chicken quarter. For dinner I have chicken liver and lamb shanks thawing.

Every day Mandy and Nova have three chicken feet for their joints.

They've had kibble for the past 3-4 days, since Roxy's not eating her meat, and I want to buy some fresher meat anyways.

I have just recently switched back to an all raw fed diet. But even when I was feeding kibble for a little while there they would get a raw meal at least every 3ish days or so but usually it was at least once every day or two.

It's been one week today since they have eaten nothing but raw!

Even so there are still things that improved with them and everyone's stools are smaller, a lot smaller!!!
    Raustyk:
She's the rescued 8 y/o rott with many health problems as well as joint/ligament problems. History unkown, probably a very bad BYB.
Her teeth are getting cleaner yet & her breath is a lot better. Her teeth have always been bad, they were terrible when I adopted her at 6 months of age & even after being clean, if I slack on teeth cleaning in any way they get dirty/tartery/smelly super fast. With raw her teeth are so good that there is no need for ME to clean her teeth.
She seems to be having less joint pain.
Her anal glands are not bothering her at all. They used to be terrible, very bad for a few years. As I introduced better premium foods and raw there was no need for me to physically express them anymore but she still would have to "work" a little bit at getting them emptied on her own.
She is going through some detox though I won't lie. Thankfully most of it is just about over already. Her coat is a little dry and she shedded like crazy but it's starting to come in shiny, soft & smooth. Her skin became falky but that has stopped. Her eyes were a little runny for a couple days, but again that has stopped as well. Not sure if it makes a difference but she has always had eye, skin & coat issues.

    Nanook:
Keep in mind he is almost 16 y/o with many major health problems & mobility issues. Shep/husy/? mix. Also a rescue with history unkown other than he was shot with 50 birdshots before I got him & most are still lodged in him.
His breath has improved a lot! He has always had awesome teeth (he's also always had more bones than everyone else)!
His skin & coat is slowly improving. I don't seem to have to groom his as often as I did so far.
Seems a little more alert and it seems as if his vision is improving a little bit.

    Kaige:
1 y/o Aussie, from reputable breeder
His coat is softer & seems to have filled out nicely. Not sure if this is due to his age.
His teeth are staying totally bleach white naturally.
It seems to me that his energy level is better. It's like he's not as ancy like a kid when they drink a soda.
He also is going through a bit of a detox, just one symptom though. His eyes produce a little more eye gunk.

    Indy:
    b/f's dog, almost 4 y/o lab mix.
She is having a hard time eating the chicken so she's skipped a couple meals & had a few smaller meals. Sure she gets other meats and eats full meals, we are just trying to get her to eat chicken. We are not going to let her starve.
Her coat is getting softer & even shinier and she's shedding less.
She too has been going through detox, just like Kaige though it's only the little bit of extra gunk in her eyes. It's starting to improve.

    Me:
Did I mention that their stools are a LOT smaller?!
    I enjoy watching them eat.
I feel better knowing my dogs are healthier!
I don't know what the heck to do with all the kibble that I have.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

What type of kibble is it?

If it's one with a longer shelf life - store it somewhere safe. You never know when your power may fail and your meats will rot/expire.

I'll always have kibble on hand just incase - not that I WANT them - hurricanes come to visit me.

If it doesn't have a long shelf life, donate it to the local shelter? If it's opened and they won't take it - donate it to a friend?
