Thank you for your support everyone!

Sonia, this little furry gang is so cute, they look like wonderful friends!

Beauty55, I'm sorry that you're going through the same. Looks like this is many people's fate these days.

Johanna, thank you for your kinds words. Right now, I'm feeling so useless and numb, and it's not easy to keep in mind that there are things I may be good at.

I may not post very often here, but this place means a lot to me and can be such a tremendous source of comfort and support!

    Thanks,
    Kirsten

Remember Kirsten, it is always darkest before the dawn. I know it's small comfort to you, but sometimes it really is true.

It's hard, but stand up for yourself, be strong, and never forget we are here for you. PLEASE don't let others bring you down. You are worth far more than that.

And, listen to Gary...he, along with others here, have been through it, too.

I'm so very sorry for all the troubles in your life right now.Do you have family?Any family worth going to for help?Do you know anyone here in the USA to stay with? You could bring the cats with you to a friend or family member outside Germany?Quarentine is 6 months indoors to whereever you go outside of Germany.
You must have a friend to help you in Germany.I hope.
I only say outside Germany because you wrote how hard it is to find work there,so I was hoping you had family or friends elsewhere to start.Or it would be much better to just really ask around town if there's ANYthing for work until you can get something your happy with.I feel so bad.Loosing your apartment is bad enough...but the thought of loosing your cats is devistating I'm sure.I hope things look up soon Kirsten.
Anytime you need me you can call on me.

Yes they are! Last week I posted some movies about them. I don't know if you have seen them. Here they are: http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=105923 They are so cute and funny, they will bring a big smile on your face, for sure

I think migrating to another country would be difficult, even though many Germans consider to do so these days. The job situation is really bad here now. It's a bit better in the south of Germany, and I may have to get used to the thought to move there. My sister is already living there, and two friends of mine (in the area of Stuttgart/Black Forest). But it would be a tough decision.
It's not easy but more and more frequent. Sometimes you have to do it. I have been working in The Netherlands for more than 3 years now, and I can't find a good job to come back to France! I am traveling back home every week-end. At the beginning I had a two-year contractin the Netherlands, and now it turned to a permanent contract. It's very nice of course, but it makes it even more difficult to find something equivalent in my country. Up to now, I did not find It's a pity that other countries can offer you what your country cannot.

So sorry to hear your troubles Kristen. Have you thought about going back to school to upgrade your training or start your own business? It seems you enjoy website design and photography. Does your country offer assistance for home based business? Or how about going to a career counsellor to see what options you may have?

I can imagine how hard this must be because you are the sole provider. There's always something better waiting for you...you just have to find an alternative path to get there. Remember, positive thoughts bring positive actions.

I quit my job because of a very harsh work environment. Right now I'm working part-time until something better comes along and also I'm thinking of going back to school. Who knows, I may even start a side business since I've had some offers recently.
Don't be afraid that your life will end. Be afraid that it will never begin.
