You should owe a little since that means you haven't wasted a year's worth of interest on your own money. I used to adjust things so that I owed about $50, not too bad. However, last year I took out a huge home equity loan and didn't adjust my taxes so I got a refund. I was really looking forward to going a bit wild with it - Photoshop, scanner, printer, etc. Lucky I didn't spend it before I got it since It turns out that the refund is just $25 shy of paying for Newcat's radio-iodine treatment!
Yup my taxes are done & have to send off & to get back $140.00.. I am always so glad to just not have to pay anymore in..

We're getting a whopping $38. Yipp-y. I have come to the conclusion that if a married couple w/o kids or major deductions (we have the house but our interest rate is incredibly low, so we didn't pay much interest to deduct) makes between $50,000 and $100,000 per year, you don't get much back. I know that actually, unless you have kids or are self employeed, you shouldn't be getting big returns (as Lizzie stated). Well, maybe it's time for us to start having kids!
