Actually, they are. They originated as pagan fertility symbols. Other symbols co-opted by Chrisitians are oxen, eagles, snakes, lions, deer, sheep, pelicans, salmon, and...mousetraps! (bet you didn't know that one!) should we ban mousetraps?

There are so many symbols used by so many religions for so many different reasons, it seems quite pointless to ban them. Perhaps we need to ban Political correctness, or at least rein it in a little!
