Smoking ban! Yippee!

I am all for the smoking bans. I will be glad when it is everywhere. I also think there should be a peremeter ban around the doorways of restaurants and other such establishments. I don't appreciate having to walk through the cloud of smoke to get inside.

I was a smoker and I quit. It isn't as hard as smoker's make it out to be. It is easier than losing weight and often people will be more tolerant of smoker's than of the morbidly obese. At least with smoking you can stop doing it entirely. You don't have to keep having a little bit in order to survive like with food. When trying to lose weight you can't just quit food cold turkey..(no pun intended ) you have to eat something in order to stay alive. With cigarettes you can just stop. Yes...you can. You just have to make the decision to do so. Those that haven't quit haven't been able yet to make that decision. In my not so humble opinion and experience with both.

I don't agree with you at all. I have been a smoker for a long time and have wanted to quit for just as long. Quitting smoking is HARDER than quitting heroin. It is not something you can just give up with no reason. You have to be 100% commited to quitting. Maybe it was easy for you, but for me - it is very hard to quit when I have so much stress in my life...

For me, if I don't have my morning cigarette - I will sweat, have tremors and be extremely irritable. The only way to cure that is to take a drag. Quitting would help to, but my loved ones around me are who I would take my anger out on.

I'm all for the smoking bans as well!

For me quitting smoking was so easy , however i do appreciate it is not like that for everyone,but i do agree loosing weight is harder in the aspect that we have to eat to survive, therefore food cannot be eliminated from the house as say liquor or smokes can, however with smoking it is a chemical addiction that is the problem for many, each and everyone of us is different, we can only encourage people to quit and support them in their desire to do so, not everyone can do cold turkey, but if you can it is the best way in the end i think, as patches etc still are giving you a small intake of nicotine, just my thoughts on the subject, but yes smoking bans are fair IMO.
