Actually newspaper is fine, most papers use a soy based ink which is safe. You do however want to stay away from colored ink as that is toxic. Aspen is also fine, pine and cedar are bad because they have phenols (scented oil in the wood) Carefresh is my favorite bedding though, that's what I used for my rats.Originally Posted by Toby's my baby
Sarah. . . I'll have my mom pick some up tomrrow if she goes to town. The guy where we got them *at a Ben Franklin store* said we could just use newspaper. .all they had was aspen bedding. . . .
