You know that over here we don't have that engagement/wedding ring thing- we only have wedding rings that are simple identical bands. (And we had been living together so long (15 years) before we married we knew we wouldn't need a ring to keep us together- so we don't wear one.)

But my dad gave my mom a very beautiful ring before they were married and it was sapphires and diamonds. I inherited it when I got my university degree because it was too small for my mom and as the band was engraved you couldn't make it bigger easily and I gave it to my niece for her university degree

So I love sapphires and diamonds together and I am somehow sorry that here we don't wear two rings as you do.

Kimmy, thanks for the explanation. I hadn't heard the term. My
engagement & wedding rings were both diamonds & actually hooked
together when we were married.I wish I'd had the sodering thingie as
the two rings came apart too often.Wow, only 5 months till the big day
for you guys.
