To be perfectly honest, I don't find it any more or less horrifying than any other sort of fur. And I actually think it is pretty hypocritical of countries to say that dog and cat fashion fur is illegal, but lynx and fox fur is fine, along with all the other animals used for fur. At the very least, those people who did use strays could argue that they were 'solving' a problem for the cities they were in, and not using the furs of much rarer wild animals. Not saying it in any sort of justification, just trying to look at it a little objectively. I mean, does a golden retriever suffer any more than a marten? Does a mink deserve life any less than a cat?
VERY well put!!! I agree with you 100%!

If people stopped buyig fur altogther...
Actually, I don't think it takes a genious to tell furs apart, I can tell Autumn's from Sonny's and they are the exact same colour. Cat fur has a hollow point. And rabbit is easy to tell from other animals. I hope I'd know if were looking at a german shepherd.

Sometimes i despise my home country

Fur shouldn't be sold at all, no matter what animal it is made from. I HATE walking into shops that sell fur, and feel like i want to scream when i see someone considering buying it. When i was on holiday in Turkey, we went on an excursion to Ephesus. But on the way, we stopped off at a place that specialises in leather clothing and stuff like that. I really didn't want to go in, but there was no other choice. There was this shop, and it sold so much fur. And the assisstants in there were trying to tempt everyone to try it on. They were pestering me, and eventually i got so fed up with ignoring them, i turned around and practically spat out "For god's sake, i'm VEGAN!!!!", which i'm not, but it made them leave me alone. Maybe i was rude, but the fur trade annoys me that much

Why can it not be banned?????!!!!! We need an end to this cruelty and needless suffering for animals.

It's unbelievable that humans still do this... We are on the year 2006, when are these people going to realize about how terrible is to kill animals for their fur?? Someday all this madness needs to stop...

Why is the life of a dog more valuable than the life of a mink? Why is it any worse to sell dog or cat fur than mink fur?

I'm not fond of fur in general, but then again I wear the skin of dead cattle (leather), is that really any better than wearing fur?

    Thank you Wolf_Q!
