Actually Jax is doing quite well. I talked to a vet and told her that everything is clearing up, she asked me some questions, I gave her the answers, and she told me that he would be just fine and that we took care of him very well. She said that there is no need to bring him in since everything has gone away.

Suuure. Sorry, but it's hard to believe that when just a few days ago he had oozy, smelly cuts all over his neck and now miraculously there's "no need" to bring him to a vet .... if only it were that simple. Please do get a loan or something if need be. Would your parents have allowed you or your younger siblings to go weeks without medical care with severe infected wounds?
