Cockers really aren't my type of dog and like Sarah, I also prefer the English for the same reasons.

I love them. I have four. I don't have any pics. though. I have one of Alex on his page but thats it. I would rather have rottweilers or something though. They would suit me better. Even though rotties are better, i wouldn't give up my babies for every penny in the world. Alex, Tyler, and Buster are sable and white. Fanny is black and white. They are my life. My roan cocker spaniel is a year old. I love them; there's a breeder in our family that's where we found her. I love the American breed. Yours is such a cute little guy!

Pepper was an active Am. cocler. Very playfil and loved to run in her younger years. She didn't much like to play with toys though and only did so once in a while to please. She lived to 14 with only ear infections and dental problems (which wasn't her fault). I'd never buy from a breeder though. I had thought that their health problems from being overbred for so many years had been overcome, but then I hear from so many people that their cockers died young from problems. All of these people got their dogs from breeders. HMMM leads me to think that all the AKC breeders have poor quality, inbred dogs. Must be because they breed for colour and beauty. It's funny how the puppy mills and byb's have overcome the cocker health problems. My's grandfather's cocker was from a mill and it lived to be as old as Pepper. My uncle same story. Either its our family that only has the good cockers or it was the mills around here churning out good ones (by chance?). No breeder cockers for me though.
