I usually leave both on - but Roscoe's neck is so huge that they are not usually anywhere near touching.

I was pretty nervous getting the prong at first, but since learning how to use it our walks are so much more enjoyable. Roscoe weighs about 85 lbs, so he used to take ME for a walk! Once he ran off towards a bunny and 'took' me with him...on my butt Since getting the prong my life is easier!
