I think the test you had done was the coagulation panel, which tests the blood clotting abilities. That test does not show that a dog ingested poison but it does test the clotting abilities which are poor to non-existant if the dog did ingest poison so I guess in a way it could help you guess that the dog ate poison.

Kaige's coagulation panel was about 2 minutes too!
