Thank you Freckles & Cinder & Smoke. What a relief. You do see
what I was talking about. It seems to appear automaticly after a certain
number of posts. (I think) That was my question. How many posts does
it have to have before it shows up?

It's getting even more confusing now - I clicked on both links, the first one didn't have the "First unread" at the top left, neither when I went back the second time, but the seond link did have "First unread" up there both times I went there. I'm not sure I've opened any of these threads before.
