Remind Mom & Dad - THIS Saturday is Husky Hike Day in Strongsville -
a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio - just east of I-71.

**NOTE**
Dogs can NOT be on Flexi Leashes!!
Be sure to bring a rope or NON-retractable type of leash!!

The HUMAN must make a Donation for your Dog or DogS to "Hike" -
but they throw in Breakfast AND Lunch for the donation!!

Registration starts at 9:30 am
HIKE starts about 11:30 am.

The "Youngsters" Hike a 3 mile wooded trail;
Bowser & Dad are gonna take the "Old Phart's shorter trail"!

inside the "Mill Stream Run Reservation" - a Park
in the Cleveland MetroParks system.

From I-71 - take EXIT 231 = Royalton Rd / OH-82 EAST
Go EAST on Royalton Rd for 1.1 miles
Turn SOUTH on Valley Parkway (a Park road) for 0.2 miles
Turn RIGHT onto Royalview Lane ...
Follow Royalview to the end and the Pavilion.

I thought maybe we would try to make it, but it looks like I will be working this weekend. September/October is tough time around here...getting close tot he end of the fiscal year and all kinds of projects have to be wrapped up. Fun, fun!

Well, we're back at the Ranch now ...
Took the REALLY "senic" route home ...

and the Pilot & all Three Co-Pilots are *bushed* ... past *bushed* !!

Pet Talk was well represented at the Husky Hike!

Pat & JoJoe brought Star & Sherman;

Anna brought Roxey;

Jennifer brought Cheyanne (SP?), Mickey/Nicky ???, and Foster "Scotch"!
(Hey - I'm TIRED! Be happie I got the Hoomin names right!)

And Cinder, Smokey & Bowser let "Dad / Phred" drive da Bus and Hold da leash.

Amy (wolf_Q) was even there (in Spirit) with the Donation of a Certificate
for one of her PORTRAITS in the Silent Auction ...

Took me THREE *RAISES* over my first bid - but Guess Who won the Portrait!?
THANKS, Amy!!!!
(And just 'tween you & me - I think YOUR Portrait was the High Money item
in the auction!!)

We all had a PHUNN Tyme;
and PIX were taken! (We'll run the photo lab tomorrow.)

We made "most" of the Hike (about ~1.6 of the 2 LONG miles) ...
It was a toss-up whether Bowz or da Bus Driver tossed in the towel first ...
Both were still standin (and breathing) when we got back ...
just walkin a lil * s l o w *!

OH ... and da BOWZ got either first or second place in the
Bobbing for a Hot Dawg contest!

More tomorrow ... we'z ALL headin fur da BigBed!!

Just for the record, Les (ParNone) donated a cap & T-shirt, too. Due to interruption from the hurricane, it didn't get here on time, but will go into the Spring Husky fund-raiser. Thanks, Par
And I would like to congratulate Miss Star for winning the "musical hoops" contest! (just like musical chairs but the dog has to sit in a hula-hoop in the ground with the owner standing in the hoop too.) She caught on real fast & plopped her butt down in a hoop everytime the music stopped!
JoJoe & I made about half the hike...(I'm still not up to full steam since my surgery, so I opted to take it easy)
All the dogs each got a big bag of goodies and a nice medallion for hiking. We had such beautiful weather to boot. A good time for everyone, great to see all the PTers- Phred and Jennifer and Anna and their gang, too.
I'll post pics when I get them back, too.

Getting closer - the Pavilion and and our area of the Park were very
isolated (one mile away from the main Park road!) and very clean!
(NICE spot to throw up 2-3 acres of fence and call it a Dawg Park!)

This is the contest Bowz won his heat in.

Great to hear from both of your Pat and Phred. It sounds like it was a good time. I didn't know that Les and Amy had donated items to the event. I love Pet Talk. That is wonderful. And congratulations to Star and Bowser for doing so well in their events and making Pet Talk proud. Looking forward to more pictures and stories.
