Please do not buy any fish before you reseach a little bit. The only fish that can survive long term in a bowl without a filter is a betta!

First decide what kind of tank would you like, then pick the fish out to match the tank. I would think a 15 or 20 gallon would be great to start out with. Reseach "fishless cycle", and what kind of tank you would like, and please do not buy anyfish the same day as you buy the tank. the tank should be installed, decorated, and cycled before you buy any fish.
