From what I understand PanLeuk can survive in the environment for up to a year! (in one piece of cat litter!)

You need to thoroughly disinfect with bleach (20:1)
ALL the areas that your PanLeuk kitty was. : (

If you decide to get another cat, it should be fully innoculated with FVRCP.

I would not get a kitten, their immune systems are not as strong as adults.

If you want to be completely safe though, it's one year.
Four months, is another opinion.
