Oh no, Barbara! I'm so sorry to hear Filou's bloodwork was not what it should be. Chronic renal failure is what Tubby had - but was not what ultimately killed him. He managed quite well for 3 1/2 years and had the rest of his organs not started to give out, he would still be here because his renal output was actually quite good at the end. So it is something to worry about, but it is also quite manageable and I'm sure Filou will be around for many years to come. There is a lot of good information on the internet regarding chronic renal failure (CRF). I had a bunch of sites bookmarked, but I recently went through my favorites and deleted them all since I didn't need them anymore - sorry. However, a lot of the sites deal with the later stages and if you read through those, you will only imagine the worst and will expect it to all happen in the next month or two. This shouldn't be the case with Filou since you caught it early so those parts are good to read because it's good to know what's coming down the line, but don't worry too much about all that yet. Remember, Tubby didn't need fluids until the last month of his life.

I know this is a worrying time, but if anything it will make you appreciate daily life with Filou even more. Big {{{hugs}}} to you and Siegmar.
