I taught English for a summer in high school, while I was still in Thailand. The biggest question I got was "why?" because the english language make NO SENSE!

1 mouse 2 ------ MICE
Though - tho
thought - thot
tough - tuff

It's a hell of a language to teach to non-native speakers.
