Thanks everyone! I just love that pic of Socrates too! I have so many wolf park pics, that I have a new one as my desktop wallpaper every week! LOL I've got some good ones, I'll be sure to post here.

Yes, doing volunteer work there was one of the best things I ever did. I learned so much about wolves and their behavior also. I'm with you doggiemom, I would just love to go and work for a preserve. I would really like to go back and work full time at Wolf Park in the future or one of the other facilities such as WERC in Idaho or the IWC in Minnesota. It's a really great thing for these facilites to educate people about wolves, while learning about their behaviors also. One of my most exciting memories of Wolf Park was when I got to hold a wolf pup. So cute!!! Every spring, if our alphas have a litter of pups, we have to go in and pull the pups very early so they can be socialized to humans. Karin, a lady that flys from Germany every year to be "wolf mom" (how cool of a job is that??!!!), stays with the pups day and night feeding and caring for them until they're old enough to be re-introduced to the pack. The first year I volunteered there, she let us(the volunteers) come into her little room where she was caring for the pups and we each got to hold one. Such adorable little wriggly bodies!!
Well, I won't go on and on about my experience there, but I thought I would include a pic for today. It's what I call the "goofy" pic of the alpha pair. Chinook and Altair were the alpha wolves when I was there, but both have since passed on. Chinook is the guy on the left and Altair is the gal on the right Enjoy!
