Today is Franklin's third birthday--his first since he joined our family. The other two probably weren't worth celebrating! So this year he is getting spoiled--more so than every other day
Franklin was born into a large dog yard--part of an unwanted litter. He was left pretty much to his own devices for a year and then dumped at the local shelter, where he sat with his best friend, Preacher, for another year. We agreed to foster them last January. They came home on the 29th. In June, we failed fostering 101 and adopted them both! They were a package deal and couldn't be separated. Franklin was so scared and timid when we first got him. He wouldn't let anyone pet him and spent most of his time cowering when humans were around. He's come a long way! He's still timid around new things, but he's a brave boy around home now and one of the best dogs in our sled team.
