Oh yeah - we had it bad that year too - one like that I hope to never see again.
Had the same problem - snow drifted to within an inch of the top of the sliding glass door - had to exit from the front and tunnel to the back of the house to dig the snow from the deck to get the glass door open. National Guard out checking on people because no one could get out. After 4 days I was finally able to get out to go to work. Roads were plowed open - one lane only - and piled so high on either side of the road that it was like driving thru a snow tunnel! If you met a car coming in the opposite direction, one of you had to back up till you could find an area wide enough for both to get by. Now that was a snow storm to remember!!!






with snow drifted to the roof of my house, and having to shovel snow into the bathtub to get out the sliding glass door; none of these 'blizzards' I've seen since look like much to me.
