I liked the spunk that Ginsberg showed in her responses and would like to see more of that in Sotomayor. But then Ginsberg did not have to be wary of the shibboleth of “fiery Latina”.

I secretly think those old white men on the panel would have their
boxers in a knot over any "wise women "who dared think they were the
equal (if not better) than them. Then you add "Latina" to the mix
and they sputter in rage at the thought.
