Gosh, I was just thinking about French fries last night. I was watching a program on the Food Network about the development of the hamburger as a trend in fast food. They were showing Burger King's French fries, which I don't like as well as McDonald's or Wendy's. Any kind of potato is fine with me - baked, twice-baked, boiled, au gratin, hash browns ... potato soup (with or without leeks)... I like mashed potatoes lumpy so I use a masher, but my mom does them with a ricer so they will be smooth.
