I just got another email from a lady at the Chicago Bully Breed Rescue. Here are her two emails, and the one I sent as well.

"Hi Tracy,
My name is Debbie Wilke and I'm with CBBR. The
momma dog and her pups are at a shelter in Rock
Island. I have the original email Cindy sent out about
her and can send it to you. Cindy does work very close
with Paul from Dog Pound rescue so you may have this
info already. She got into a fight with another dog in
the house where she was at. There were three of them.
I'm sure they were all intact etc. They had to use
mace to get them seperated, that's why her face was
so swollen. The guy who owned her is
not a nice guy or decent animal owner. I guess he got
one of the dogs back. They have had parvo at the
shelter in the past and are worried as the pups get
older they will become sick. I'm hoping someone can
take them, we are just so packed. I keep thinking this
whole pitbull thing will level off but it just keeps
getting worse. If you would like to speak to Cindy I
will give you her info.

Debbie,

Thank you for the information about the Pit and Pups. Are they in the new Shelter in Rock Island? If it is a no kill shelter and has a vet on staff, why would they want to move her? I am sure it has a lot to do with the breed. The Pit Bull epidemic will never end as long as people like this girl's owner are able to get dogs back and continue to breed and fight them. I am trying to make some space here for her, but it will be hard. Our rescue is based out of our home and foster homes. I have children that I am worried about. I don't know how she would be here. My foster homes refused from day one to take Pits or Rotts. I wish people would stop being afraid of a breed and just wake up. I will be in touch. Oh, I would love to have Cindy's information so I can contact her.

Thank you.

Hi Tracy,
yes, i believe she is in the new shelter. I don't
believe the Momma is in any danger of being put down.
the concern is more about having her in such a
stressful enviornment while she has pups. Also, the
parvo thing is a concern. I don't think there has been
any sings of human aggression. Cindy's husband David
trains and temp. tests dogs. I'm sure they would be
hapy to do this for you if you want to take her. My
biggest concern would be keeping her seperate from
other dogs.

Debbie"

So, now I am deciding whether I take her or not. The fact that I had Parvo here about two months ago worries me too. If she is out of danger (eutahnization), then maybe it would be best for her and the pups stay there. Any suggestions guys?
