So I was up at 2:30 this morning. Cali wanted a snuggle with her mom. Then it was Diego's turn. Following all the snuggles we got up and kitties had their breakfast, Diego got his prozac dose. Minutes later at 3:15 am the fire alarms went off in the condo. YIKES!!! I loaded the kitties into their kennels and off we hustled, Diego hissing all the way. My neighbor asked if he could help so I let him have Cali. We were outside in the cold for 45 minutes before the fire department declared a false alarm and let us go back in. I was pretty worried about Diego as it was the fire alarms going off that sent him down the prozac road 3 years ago when the building next to ours burned. We got back inside and I let the kits out of their kennels. So much to my complete shock and surprise Diego meandered over to the food bowl for a snack and Cali laid herself down on the carpet looking ever so relaxed. What the heck!!! They were relaxing and my heart was still racing, I had to sit for a half hour to calm myself down. I'm so glad the kitties took it so very well.

My condo complex does annual fire alarm testing and my cats always get stressed out and will usually hide.
