Aww that is sweet barbara, how did she come by her name,? Meri Kirihimete is the maori way of saying merry xmas, i am european, but i like to embrace the culture even in a little way ,as it is all part and parcel of being a New Zealander.

Kiri is named after Kiri Te Kanawa as she is a soprano
I had the opportunity this morning to check it out again as she was on the balcony between 5.15 (when her dad wanted to check whether there was lots of snow) and 5.45 (when she waked me meeowing soprano style). I must admit that this morning she sounded rather dramatic and not so lyrical

I wondered about that , you do know Kiri is a maori New Zealander, who lives in Britain, one of our most famous singers.

I even had the chance to hear Dame Kiri in Munich about ten years ago. I just love her voice.

yes she is very talented,opera is not my kind of music, but i can and do appreciate the beauty of her voice.
