    THANKS!
We thought about all of you guys, too.
Wouldda been a lil *tuff* being there without my wanna-be Husky tagging along ~
but hopefully he was there trotting along with his Big Buddies on the Hike.

We all "did our thing" at the Fire Station on Saturday ...
County Health Dept decided we'd get the Fall Rabies Clinic
(we usually do it in the Spring.)

October 6th was the only day Doc Lisa (our "FREE" Vet) had an open Saturday.
    OK - we'll be there.
Set-up at 10:30 - rolled the Fiur Trucks OUT and set up tables, chairs, and the pooper-skooper.
    Between 11:00 and 1:00 PM the folks that don't read flyers well arrived;
we served Bisquits to keep the complaints down.

Doc pulled in about 1:15 PM or so - almost On-Time at 15 minutes late!
We had a LINE from 12:00 till 3:30!
    Health Dept Girls fillin out the Forms and accepting the $2.00 payments;
I unwrapped the Jabbers and tightened the needle; Dog Warden's Secretary "Loaded" 'em,
and poor Doc Lisa stuck 160+ Critters in a little over 3 hours!
She did a lotta "Road Trips" - following an owner out to a car/truck in the parking lot
to take care of the "Anti-Social" creatures.
She came back in once <shakin> her head as she dumped 10 syringes into the sharps container -
"TEN of 'em - two cars worth - and NONE of 'em were very happy!"

    Parting *Shots* ??
Yup, the Host Doggies both got their Boosters as the last two customers.

I think we'd have ALL rather been at the Husky Hike!

A wooley Husky and a Bi-Color GSD on the hike

Sierra telling me it's too dang HOT!!!

So she and I turned around at the 1/2 mile mark, but if you look close... you can see Sherman on one side and Bowser on the other!!

Shortly after taking the above picture a leaf fell, and landed ON me.
It was a red leaf... I think it was a certain red Husky making sure we knew he and Bowser were there with us.

    A baby Nebo??

THe princess Finally drinking water (only after I gave her a bowl with ice in it )

Anna went to the Husky Hike and all she got was KNOCKED UP!!

Wonderful pictures everyone, we sure missed you guys! I notice that the ribbons on the medallions this year are rainbow - and sure seems like "Someone" arranged that in honor of our Sherman and Bowser going to the Rainbow Bridge - now how perfect is that? Just look at the light streaming down on the huskies in Angie's pic of the start of the hike- I bet they were right there with you!

Angie, this coloring is called "parti eyed" Gorgeous dog!
And yes, Angie, I think Sherman must have been tagging along with his beloved Sierra.

Our Husky Hike turned out a bit on the gray side - sorry the pictures look so dark- it was kind of foggy & overcast while we walked for over an hour...it got sunny once we headed home.
We started off at the beach:

Met this cute little girl on our way- her name is Mandy, she's 3 mos. old & loved the water!

From the beach, we went & walked at the resevoir - this appears to be where most of the dogs get walked - we met tons of them!

    ...more in next post-

    It was very pretty there:

We turned to go home & saw 7 dogs approaching- all off-leash! (obviously they weren't huskies)

Then these 7 dogs went for a dip-

Star was one pooped pup when we got home!
(Jack was outside still running around the yard)

So that was our Rhode Island version of the Husky Hike!

Great pictures Pat! I love the last one, Star looks like she had fun!

It's great to see Star and Jack together! I'm so happy he worked his fuzzy way into Star's heart!!

That looks like a great place to walk the pups!!
    You're right, it's beautiful!!

    Finally!

Yes, finally I have my pictures uploaded and am able to share them!

Angie your pictures were great and yours were too Pat. I hope one day to meet Jack, he's gorgeous!

We really thought about Sherman & Bowser while we were on our walk Saturday and missed having everyone there, it just wasn't the same.

Like Angie said, it was so HOT! We had some tired dogs that's for sure (Roxey was REALLY tired )

If I didn't already have 3 dogs I would have taken that beautiful parti eyed girl home with me, she was a real lover and up for adoption.

Unwilling as I am to use Shutterfly (I hate that IS is closing) all my pictures are there, so...Enjoy!
    Husky Hike 2007

    P.S.
I wanted to add this picture that Robin took with her camera. I know it was just the way the light was, but it was the start of the walk and there's these two white lights that are coming down....looks like it was Sherman & Bowser going on that walk after all

Wow, that's an awesome picture! (Gave me teary eyes) You guys seem to "capture" spirits on your cameras when you get together (thinking of the ones you posted from Robin's visit a while back).

Anna, I can't access your photos, the link takes me to a blank sign-in page .

Thanks Anna, that link works! Wow, you got so many good shots I almost feel like I was there too! Sierra, Tori, Roxey, Nikki, Cayenne and Jake all look wonderful. (I told Star all about her friends' adventures at the Husky Hike. Soooo many gorgeous dogs there! Hey, in that one shot of the walk, is that a 3-legged husky hiking?
