    R.i.p.

Today at work a very snoody lady came in. She asked if we could put her three dogs to sleep. We told her we could. She filled out her paperwork and brought the dogs in. We weighed them and turned to ask her if she wanted to be present when they passed. She said "No. I just want their collars. I would rather never see them again." I was so shocked. She didn't care about these dogs. I asked her why she was having the dogs put to sleep. If they were agressive. She said "No, they are nice dogs. I just don't want them anymore."

The first dog was a sweet little 8 month old Pittie boy. He was sweet as pie and didn't quite understand why he was there. We put a muzzel on him and slid the needle in his leg. A few seconds later he was gone.

The next were two 75lb Black Lab mixes. About 5 yrs old. Sweetest dogs I've ever met. Loved to give kisses. Their ears were fly bitten to the point they were bleeding. We put muzzels on each of them and the vet put the first one down. I think the second dog knew his buddy was dead. He looked at his friend, tucked his tail and started crying. About a minute later he too was dead.

As I was bagging up these dogs I started to tear up. I've helped put a lot of dogs down, but these dogs touched me. They were good dogs. They had no reason to die. The puppy had years of life ahead of him, but thanks to an uncareing and unreponsible owner who just didn't want the dogs anymore they are now in a trash bag in a freezer.

Stupid woman. I can't believe she just treats living creatures as disposable objects. Hopefully, she'll get whats coming to her....

Sometimes some vets ask the owner if they can try and find a home for them, but some owners insist it's "My pet" and they want it "Put down."

I wish that sort of thing was reportable to a Humane Society or something.

It's tempting to want to leave the corpses on her doorstep! But she would figure out who...

I don't think there are words to properly describe that heartless person (I cannot call her a woman).

I hope you feel better, Lute.

    *bursts into tears*

    How heartless!!!!

I'm so sorry you had to do this, it must have just torn you up.
This really upsets me. She walks in and "disposes" of these wonderful, healthy, loving dogs, without a second thought.

We would have given ANYTHING to save our Sherman, and we couldn't. It just isn't fair.

That's soo odd. Here in our state unless the dog's are terminally ill or have an illness that wont improve or if the dog is in pain is the only way an onwer cna put them to sleep. Other wise the vet tell them to go to the local shelter and give them away or the vet's will take them into their pratice and try to adopt them out. Same thing with cats..thats actaully how I inquried my 3 cats. Anyway that is soo sad i am sorry you had to deal with that today

I'm surprised the vet would even do it, based on their ages. I don't think I could have stood to see that happen.

That is a horrible thing. I don't understand how people can be so heartless to these poor innocent creatures.

    WOW.

That just brought tears to my eyes. I would have taken the three into the back.. removed their collars, but the dogs in my car and took them home. Then I'd have come back and handed the lady the three collars..

Thats just awful. I cant believe that's allowed.

May she rot in hell! If I had to do what you do every day, I'd be scarred forever. I don't know how you do it. And it should be considered a crime for things like this to happen. This just hurts my heart so much. I hope those sweet dogs have a special place at the RB. I'd love to be able be the one to care for them when we all meet up again. This just stuns me. I'm so angry at that hateful, uncaring ***** How much you want to bet she gets more dogs, too? I could rant about this for a while.

I'm stuck at work, too. I want to do the same thing. And I was picturing Dasher because because of the Lab mixes. That woman must not have an ounce of feeling in her. Also, I was remembering how hard it was to put Duke down and then that callous witch comes in there and doesn't even shed one tear. Unbelievable.

I would never ever ever ever EVER work for a clinic that did convenience euthanasia. I'd rather live in a box and eat garbage. RIP pups. *Huggles Jasper*
