OK everybody really needs to stop yelling at him now he had proof that she saw a vet and he was only trying to tell everyone how good she is doing now and everyone is still being mean about it. It would be different if he didnt have the proof so please just stop with the mean comments. I am happy Reggie is doing better

Well my mom always said I lacked 'tact' as a child, guess I still don't have it down pat. lol Like I said I look for stuff like that at work all day so it's second nature to me to notice it.

My blind eyes didn't register the 06. Instead I was focused on the month. Did notice the dog's name in this thread was "Reggie" and the dog's name on the Vet papers was "Little Reggie" - two different dogs? Nit pick.

Note to Reggie: Get the Rabies vaccination, else you'll be posting soon about how your little dog nipped a stranger, and your parents can't afford a lawyer. Ask for the 3 yr Rabies vaccine. The rest of the vaccines can be skipped- assuming Reggie is 2 yrs of age or older. If still 1 yr of age then the Parvo-Distemper as a booster is needed. After that you can skip 2-3 years or more.

Dogs are low cost, low maintenance when young. When they get old, that's when the Vets catch up on the revenue side. You really need a Reggie fund set up now via a part time job. Expenses are not going down in future years.

In my state if the Rabies vaccination is more than 3 months overdue they can only get a 1 year Rabies. I'm sure that varies by state though.

Interesting. I did a quick scan and it seems the 1 yr is favored as a booster if a vaccinated dog has come into contact with a rabid animal. Speculation here... it could be the 1 yr version evokes a faster ananestic response(?). Thus the preference for it in lasped vaccinations? I'll leave it to you to ask all your Vets at the office.

I couldn't find any specific information on the regulations for my county here in Carolina per lapsed vaccinations. They do state if your dog has tangled with a raccoon or other potentially rabid animal it should receive a booster within 72 hrs- even if up to date on its rabies vaccination. Also found out that without the rabies tags (I gave up trying to keep them on), puppies are free game for the local dog catcher to pick up. Clover, Barney... run for it!!!
