    Poor Shelby, RIP

    I'm still shaking, my neighbor's dog was hit by a car right in front of my house a half hour ago. (30' from where Rosie died) Shelby died instantly, poor thing. Hubby & I helped Joe remove her from the road, it was just sickening. She's NEVER allowed out without being tied to a lead, but apparently her collar broke this evening & she took off, ran to our place, and then bolted across the road. She was an all black poodle mix, and you just can't see a black dog at night out here. I feel so bad for Joe, he saw her get hit. (IMHO, They should have stopped & apologised, but they just kept driving. )
    Please keep Joe & Jan & their grandkids (who will be crushed, they adore her) in your thoughts, they've had Shelby since she was a puppy. Joe thinks she was about 9 or 10.

    RIP, little Shelby, I'm sure Rosie was there to meet you at the RB.

    Oh I feel sick. I simply can't imagine the agony of seeing it happen. Poor everyone. My heart goes out to you all. I wish I could give you all a huge comforting hug. I'm so so sorry. Safe trip to the Bridge, darling Shelby.

    Joe buried Shelby in the woods behind our house today. That man has such a tender heart for animals, it was very sad to see him so distraught last night. I'm sure he stoppped & talked to his buddy, Sherman, when he came back from the woods. He loves our two as much as he loved his own. Their cat, Kiki, spend half her day in our yard. I know she'll miss Shelby too. Thank you, and I will pass all your kind thoughts along to Joe & Jan.
