:( My ChowChow kitty is gone

My precious ChowChow kitty passed away this morning. He was 16. This past year, his health had deteriorated steadily. My dear friend has come to help me give him sub-Q fluids several times a week since last spring. It was obvious to me when I came home from work yesterday that he was so much worse. I spent last evening holding & rocking him & just loving him. He cried off and on, he was obviously in pain. This morning he could no longer move, he was lying in a dark corner. I wrapped him up and held him another half-hour so so, then called the vet. I held his head and stroked him while he was mercifully euthanized. I've had him since he was a kitten, and I promised him I would take care of him for all of his life, and now I have fulfilled my promise. His little kitty spirit is free of pain now, and I will think of him every single day for the rest of my life.
Safe journey. my dear ChowChow, rest in peace. I love you forever

What a beautiful cat. I'm so sorry that you had to say goodbye. My cat, Dusty, passed almost exactly two years ago now. He was seventeen, it's so hard, even when they make the decision themselves to go.
