The shelties road trip to Wyoming....(pics)

Okay so back in Sept of 2004 the shelties and I took a road trip from Alberta Canada to Rock Springs Wyoming to visit Shanna (Twisterdog).

Of course me being me I just now got around to taking the pictures off my camera, re-sizing them, and uploading them to the net.

I will only post 20 of the 164 pics I took.

You can click here to see the whole album. The password is bark.

    Anyways...to the pics.

I snapped this one while driving. I was just outside of Lethbridge Alberta, about 2 hours from the border.

On the drive down I discovered rest stops along the side of the interstate (is that what y'all call the highways??). I love rest stops!! They are awesome. All of them had pet areas too.

Here the shelties are getting a nice drink of water and a chance to stretch their legs at a rest stop in Montana.

We stopped in Butte Montana overnight, 8 hours of driving later.
The shelties made themselves right at home in the hotel.

Finally after 8 more hours of driving we made it to Shanna's house. Where we were immediately mauled....LOL Just Kidding.

I was hoping I would be able to adopt Jack from her, but things didn't work out at home on my end. Jack and the shelties did get to spend extra time together though.

We also loaded up all of the dogs (except for Lacie and Queenie, who are too old for such a long walk, and Pepper, who wasn't feeling well at the time) and took them out to run on the prarie.

    Everybody walk single file now....

All of Shanna's dogs (minus Lacie, Queenie and Pepper) in one shot.

    (More coming).........

We also loaded the dogs up one night and took them to the sand dunes. It was getting dark when we got there though so I didn't get many pics.

    Beware the hounds of hell!!

    (Same pic lightened a bit)

Emily and Clipse posing on top of a sand dune.

Another day we went on a hike. I forget what the place was called where we went though. Anyways here's Emily doing her Lassie impersonation looking out over the town.

And here she's supervising Shanna's son's descent down a hill.

On my last day in Wyoming we took Emily, Clipse, Jack and Vanilla to a baseball field to run.

    Go Vanilla bean Go!

The shelties at a rest stop in Idaho.

And at a rest stop in Montana somewhere.

And back in Butte for the night.

There aren't any more pics of the trip from Butte back to Canada because the weather was pretty bad.
I hope you liked the pics and I really hope you check out the album as there are so many great shots I left out, including individual ones of Shanna's dogs.

    Thanks for looking!

Some of those pictures made me laugh, especially the hounds from hell one. The whole sand dunes, hounds from hell thing reminded me of a Johnny Cash song (imagine that ). Those are some GREAT pictures with some gorgeous dogs in them. That picture of Emily and Clipse running around with the coke bottle made me laugh too. Heidi LOVES plastic bottles. I did see a lot of black and white dogs though.

Great pictures!! I knew Twister had alot of Jack ruseels and rescues, but I don't think we've seen so many in one shot before. How cool!

Thanks for posting all those pictures, Shelteez2! I KNOW it was a pain!

Notice, everyone, if you will ... there are lots and lots of pictures of Shelteez's good dogs posing nicely ... and there are lots and lots of pictures of my bad dogs running amok, not listening and being wild. That is NOT a coincidence.
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam

"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien

  11. You both have gorgeous dogs! Looks like the shelties had a good trip...and the Jacks had a good a very friendly...(uhmm...uhmm..wild) visit! LOL!
