    Tabasco is being desexed today

I took him in this morning and hopefully I can pick him up later today. Poor little guy.

The vet was doing his pre-op and had a work experience student in the room. He was listening to Tabasco's heart and told her to listen as it's a nervous cat's heart. Oh, really Tabasco has a protruding sternum and he said that's a deformity of the Siamese breed (emphasis on deformity). I just said well, if that's the worst deformity he's got, I'm happy ... think I need a new vet.

I hope he will be OK.

They grow up far too quickly.

Awww. I'm sure he'll be fine. Mozart and Bach who've been neutered and Eliza who's spayed.. all send hugs for you and Tabasco!

Although I'm thinking that yeah, a new vet might be in order, he sounds a lil mean! We think Tabasco is handsome....emphasis on HANDSOME

Ah , my love Tabasco! Be nice with the vet, but don't lose you cheeky purrsonality.don't mellow a bit , that's it!

Little Pericot is the only one of the crew that has his "olivettes" intacts, but I think he will lost them in a near future

Boy have a speedy recovery ! Good luck!

    It's not a deformity, its a feature.

Get well soon Tabasco. You are a very handsome kitty. and yes, they do grow up far too quickly.

Nicole, I'm sure that Tabasco's surgery will go fine. He'll be up and running around again before you know it. BTW I also think that your vet sounds very mean. What a terrible thing to say about such a sweet little cat and also about the Siamese breed. Prayers are on the way for a speedy recovery.

He is home now, still stiff and sore but purring when he is petted I set up a little recuperation room where the computer is and he's having a nap by my side

The furkids had barbecue chicken as a treat when he came home and he wolfed down a fair portion, which is excellent. Thanks for your good wishes.

With boys it is easier as the surgery is not as complicated as with girls. I was glad to hear he had barbecued chicken. I could suggest some banana bread too.
Telling from I own: it is simply not true that they get more quiet and less playful. Filou was the same little monkey after....
    Get well soon, little Tabasco

    "Taking away the bells?" LOL!

Stoopid vet. That's not a deformity, it's an undocumented feature. (In computers, they're not bugs, they're undocumented features!"

I'm so glad to hear everything went well. He sure is a cutie.

And you never know, that vet might have a "deformity" of his own. You would think they'd be a bit more sensitive knowing you are right there and it's your baby they're talking about - sheesh.

Glad to hear Tabasco is back home where he is loved, deformity, indeed....sheesh.

Here is to a overly indulgent recuperation! Short on time, long on love.

You know what I think of when I see his picture? The Lady and the Tramp where the two meezers are singing. They are so stealth and gorgeous and those eyes....
