why I have not been posting lately

Hi everyone ! Geez it seems like forever since I last posted but things have not been so good around here. I woke up one morning with a small place on my bottom lip that was numb but I didnt think much about it and off to work I went. By lunch time the whole left side of my face was numb and my left arm was tingling and my finger tips were numb. my co -workers made me call my doctor who told me to get to the er right away. After spending 6.5 hours there I was told I have Bells Palsy. It happens when your 7th crainal nerve gets messed up by a head cold or such and it makes you lose all feeling a motion in one side of your face. The good news was it will go away with time and meds a few days later I went for a follow up with my regular doctor. At this point I was losing my ability to talk with out sounding really stupid. My doctor took one look at me and said this is not Bells ( because my left side was numb but my right side was not working) and he sent me directly to a specialist. The new doctor agreed with my doctor and said I had had a stroke and then sent me right away to the hospital where I had a MRI and a MRA done. Then all I could do was wait for the results to see how much damage was done. It was the longest few days in my life and alot of the time was spent crying and reflecting on my life and the things in it thtat I am so grateful forafter spending a few days in hell and being scared to death the results came back and with wonderful news.. there are no major legisions in my brain and everything will be just fine. Im sorry I didnt mean for this to turn out so long but I have really miss everyone here and I want you all to know that I count all of you in the blessings I have in my life! there will be New pics of Tucker in the next post Hugz Jessica

I had Bell's palsy when I was pregnant with my son. It lasted a month, and then went away. It was scary and not fun, that's for sure. Sorry you are going through this, and I hope it gets better soon!

First of all, what tremendous pictures! Tucker is so photogenic and he looks like he's used to having his picture taken! I'm sorry to hear about your stroke as I have had 3 relatives suffer strokes and it is just terrible. My brother-in-law had one at the age of 40 and before then I thought it was something that only happened to older people. He has found a support group on the internet and met many people younger than he is who have also suffered strokes. I am glad yours was minor. Do whatever the doctor tells you and stay well, OK? Oh, and keep those pictures coming!

I know I'm a little late here, but I'm glad to hear your feeling better & they found out exactly what was wrong with you. We have missed you and Tucker!
Absolutely wonderful pics, and I too love the frames, is it a program you have?

How scary, I am so glad you went to the Dr. ASAP
    and further tests were done.
You were very lucky you had a "small stroke" and
    hopefully no damage was done.
Now, you can be treated, and cross fingers
    that you do not
    suffer another stroke again.
Glad your going to be ok and take care of yourself.

I'm so sorry that you had a stroke. I know you had to have been really scared. I remember when my grandpa had a stroke 7 years ago it was awful. Sounds like you just had a minor one. My grandpa is better but not complety. He still has problems using his left arm. His left side went all numb when he had a stroke. I'm really glad that you are doing better And those pictures of Tucker are wonderful
