    Another Nitron update...

Remember Nitron--the dog I saw getting dragged? A couple weeks ago I posted that his original owner had taken him back. He was given away as they have a nutty neighbor who admits she hates dogs. Everytime Nitron barks she calls animal control. His owners were worried she was going to hurt the dog. I don't think he was barking excessively. I think the neighbor is just a truly a miserable person who wants to make others just as miserable as she is! They called last week and asked if we would be interested in him. Unfortunately, a GSD isn't a real good fit with our pack. Nitron does not like other male dogs and wouldn't be a sled dog. He also has no exposure to cats. Fortunately, my father-in-law lives just down the road, has no other dogs, no cats and has owned GSDs throughout his life! He's the only person we've ever trusted to take care of our animals.

Nitron moved in with FIL over the weekend. He already has his new owner wrapped around his big paws! We spent yesterday building him a big fenced area at his new home. He's kennel trained, knows hand signals, has basic obedience commands down pat, housebroken, and settling in nicely! I get to see him just about every day now--FIL works in our shop and plans to bring Nitron with him(He just can't mingle with our dogs. We'll build him a pen for his visits and dogsitting).

I felt really bad for his original owners. They were both in tears when they left. They obviously love him and he's been well cared for by them, but they couldn't see any other option than rehoming him. At least this way, they can visit and I'll send them pictures and updates regularly. This will be his last move.
If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you must find the courage to live it.

Cool! Now we'll all get to "adopt" him too and look forward to pictures & stories! Who knows? Maybe he'll hit it off with one of yours & have a special friend. He's very handsome, so glad to hear your FIL already is head over heels. Will say a little prayer for his poor owners, so sad they couldn't keep him, especially after the awful experience they saw him go through. I'm sure they will treasure seeing him at you FIL's. God bless all of you for helping him!

I am glad to hear that this will be his last move. Sorry that the
original owners had no other options when they gave him over the first
time. If you say he's in a great place with your FIL, that's good enough
for me. Lucky pupster. I hope he's able to settle in just fine.

That's awesome news! How terrible that their neighbor is such a toxic person. But, Nitron is beautiful, and, he has a great new family!

Welcome to the Dawggie Heaven ANNEX - FIL In Charge!

Somehow I thought we'd *see* Nitron again.

Guess he can be sorta like an Assistant to Daisy - not quite a FULL-Tyme Resident -
but with a full privilages Visitor's Pass.

Maybe you guys can invite his First Family over for his next Birfday Party.

Wow! Poor Nitron has been through a lot these last couple of weeks! I'm so thrilled to hear that he has is furever home now and is training his new hoomins appropriately.

As others have said, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this handsome fella.

Oh I just love him!! He's such a handsome man!
So glad to hear he's had a happy ending!
Sad for his owners, but like you said at least they'll be able to see him if they want to. It's good that the made such a hard decision for his own well being.
