  3. Silly guys! I just have my mummy move the blinds out of my way! Why expend all that energy when she will do it for me?

    Still Laughing!!

BUT I'm thinking of getting Roman Blinds - PLEASE could you put my mind at rest - that it's only mini-blinds that get involved in these horror attacks?

There was a stealth attack last night in the middle of the night in Canada. The Rose coloured mini -blinds are not safe. The sentry not having infra- red vision could not distinguish who the shadowy perPETrator was. A very loud rattling was heard and a whole lot of shaking was going on. When the sentry left their (bed) post and made loud noises, the perPETrators disappeared into the shadows of the night. The lone sentry returned to their (bed )post.

??? Sorry, Lynne, I've not heard of Roman Blinds so can't say for sure, but strongly suspect they are involved at least to some extent in the warfare...

Are Roman blinds the kind that are fabric and they're folded like an accordion, so there's no actual space between the "slats"? That's the kind I have in my family room, but I never bother to pull them down anymore. Everytime they were down, my kitty would paw frantically at the sides of them and then squeeze between the blinds and the window, so the edges were all crinkled and they were coated with black cat hair. Not worth it! Kind of a waste of money since they're always retracted.
The legend says that Mohammed adored cats. When one of them was sleeping on his sleeve and he had to go out, Mohammed supposedly cut off the sleeve so as not to disturb his pet.

    vertical blinds work..

those aren't my blinds but my parents have some like that. They are plastic and they have no chain along the bottom, so the cats can't really hurt them

True, my cats can't (or at least haven't) hurt the vertical blinds in my living room. Although I've suddenly found myself unexpectedly facing a neighbor through what had been closed v.b.s prior to a cat inserting his or her body amidst them when he/she wanted to look out...

That mrrrrt? sound is one of my favorites!!! My Alabama does it whenever I touch her while she is sleeping..something I do often just to elicit the sound..he he he..so what, she has ALL day to sleep. I have the cat bed in the window in my bedroom, and the drapes wouldn't close or stay closed. I now babypin the things shut every night!! The cats now have a little teepee, and I don't get the neigbors porch light directly in my eye..all is well.

I had curtains, also, for several months until Cassy decided to see what was holding them up. (Either that or he'd seen an Errol Flynn movie that day?) We've since reattached the curtain rod and puttied up the holes in the wall. Grrr, by the way. Now, when I am feeling energetic, I slide the curtains over the rod so they keep the light out, but are too light themselves to be a cat jungle-gym.

I have no curtains and no blinds because nobody can look into our apartment -this seems to be the best solution. At the moment I have some small trees out of coloured glass at the windows but they seem to ignore it. Lucky trees.
