Grieving for a dog I never knew

I don't come to the dog side very often because I haven't been owned by a dog in many, many years.
Some of you may have heard of IMOM, an organization of volunteers to raise funds for medical treatment for sick pets whose owners can't afford large vet bills.
The recent loss of Balor (a young Irish Wolfhound) has touched me deeply. I don't know why. I never met him. He and his family live thousands of miles away, but over the 10 days of fund raising and updates from his family, I fell in love with him.
I've cried for almost 2 days straight for a dog I never knew, but loved dearly.
You can read all about Balor and see photos at: http://p088.ezboard.com/fimomcommuni...icID=829.topic
I don't know why I'm posting this, but for some reason it makes me feel better to let others know that there was a Balor who was loved and adored by everyone he met and most of those who never met him too!

What a sweet and touching thread kuhio98. It's very easy to fall in love with dogs you've never met, I've done it tons of times with the dogs here on PT.
I tried to view the link you provided, but it's no longer active.

    RIP Balor
    You were very loved.

I think we've all been there Lisa, many times, feeling the love for, the in the loss of, an animal we never knew. Thank you so much for posting this, a loving tribute to Balor, who touched the lives of so many. IMOM is a wonderful organization, as the many friends of Balor so well know. I only wish I could read his story...God bless you Balor, IMOM and all of those who loved, who still love you~
