I do believe we just may have a name for our son! It's a name that I've liked and been mentioning for awhile, but was always poo-pooed by Josh. You see, I'm getting a little freaked that I can now officially say "We're going to have a baby next month"and shared that anxiety with Josh last night. I said how much it bothered me that we were within two months of having our first baby and we couldn't decide on a name. He said "it's just a name" but it isn't - and if he really didn't care, he wouldn't be so picky! So I started going through the baby name book once again and really harped on one name in particular that I've liked for awhile. After a minute, Josh actually said "It could grow on me." And for the rest of the night, whenever he said the name, he smiled. I think that's a good sign.
You see, like my wedding I've been anticipating having children for the better part of 20 years. I was naming my future children well before I could even conceive them! Picking the perfect name has always been very important to me and I know a name is a good one when I hear/see the name with our last name and it makes my heart melt. There have been very few that make me feel that way and that Josh doesn't turn his nose up at right away. The one from last night made him smile, makes my heart melt, and sounds right. I really do think it's a fit.
However, to avoid stepping on anyone's toes we won't be sharing this one until he's born and it's on his birth certificate. That way, if it's a name that any of our friends/family had been planning on using we can honestly say we didn't know and I won't be stressing about it beforehand like I was with Benjamin. BUT since I don't actually know any of you in person, I can share it. You can give me your honest opinions on it and whether or not you think it goes with our last name, etc.

Well? What do you think? I am loving it. I've always liked the name Aidan but whenever I mentioned it, Josh would make a face without even thinking about it! But maybe my anxiety about not having a name and really not having too much time left got to him. I don't know, all I know is that he smiles when he says it and doesn't say anything against it! It's very promising as this is the same course of acceptance that Evan took (he hated it at first, then said it could grow on him, then liked it better than any other name we had mentioned)... so I feel pretty confident that he'll grow to like Aidan even more and we will use it.
I love this name. I really hope it is the one.
