    Filou Update

It's quite some time since I updated about Filou. The last update was positive but I'm afraid there was a period in between in which he was not as well:

We had tried to give the sub-Qs only every two week but the urea and creatinine levels raised almost immediately. So on one hand we went back to sub-qs weekly, on the other hand he got another homeopathic pill ( a different one this time). Today his bloodwork was checked again and the urea level is even further down than it was before that fallback occurred. The crea level had fallen as well but not that much. We even had one period in between where he got his fluids only after 1,5 weeks because we had been on vacation for one week.

Now the story why I wrote this: Our vet is a very nice lady and she loves little Filou. Although he hates going there (he meows in the car all the time ) he shows his very best behavior at the vet's (the only place where he shows his very best behavior ). And always when she is done with the fluids he jumps back in the carrier of his own which is very cute. This time, the carrier was still closed when he wanted to jump back. And so he jumped on top of it and gave the vet a headbumpie. That really made her happy and it showed me again that my little boy is the cutest and sweetest.

Oh Barbara, how sweet of beautiful Filou to give the vet a headbumpie!

The girls always remember sweet Filou in their prayers, and hope his condition is kept in check for a long time yet.

Filou, I'm glad to hear the urea levels have gone down again. Fister agrees, the car ride is absolutely no fun, but once you're at the vet, you get all the attention. How sweet of you to give her a headbumpie.

Awww....that must have made your vet feel good. I'm sure they don't get head bumpies from too many of their patients.

Glad to hear the fluids are helping keep his levels in check!

I'm glad to hear that Filou is doing well again and hopefully he'll get used to having the sub-q fluids given to him. Giving headbumpies to the vet is a great sign. My Sunny gives headbumpies to almost everything but I'm not sure he'd do it to the vet. May Filou continue to remain well for a long long time to come.

    Filou!

What a sweetheart that Filou is.... I am so sorry to hear that he is still working on getting better. Don't you wish you could make him drink more water......then you wouldn't have to do the sub-q thing, correct?

How old is little Filou? I know that Abys are prone to certain problems but didn't know about this one as being one. I think any purebred pet has more of a chance of weakness. Here I sit with three Abys, waiting for something to hit!

I wish Filou all the strength and courage to get through this. And there will be lots of good Aby vibes coming your way. GET WELL FILOU!

I think that if Puddy gave Dr. Lee a head bumpie, he'd faint! Well, we'll find out tomorrow cuz she's going on for BUN and creatinine tests again. She's not doing well either. SQ fluids aren't helping now. If we get a head bumpie out of her, it'll be a miracle.

    Blessings,
    M

Barbara, I had no idea that Filou wasn't doing well!

Glad to read he's feeling better now, and it's so cute what he did at the vet's!
