    question about blood in stool

Hello I have a question for anyone who may know about this. My kitten is 9 months and she is having blood in her stool. My vet treated her for worms and it seemed to go away for about a week and then came back and its been back for about a month. There is not blood every time but usually a little bit. My other cat is 4 yrs and I have noticed a bit of blood in his stool also a couple times. I'm thinking it could still be worms that came back. The cats do not have any other symptoms. I'm reluctant to take her back to the vet though yet because of the expense of the tests he said they may have to run. I'm thinking of treating them both with an over the counter dewormer but I'm not sure what kind. Does anyone have any ideas about what this could be? Of course I will go back to the vet if necessary, I just want to try to get rid of it myself first if possible. Thanks for any info.

Sounds like Coccidia or Giardia to me, another type of parasites kittens can get. Which means she'll have to see the vet again.

All the best for your kitten.
