    Park Ferals

These were recently TNR'd, and now maintained by me and my husband.

How lovely they all are. The dilute calico is particularly appealing (2nd photo from left). How many ferals do you and your husband take care of -- about 60 in different areas? (Or am I remembering wrong?)
I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?" I answer: "I am working at the roots." -George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

The first one we call Cat Balue, the calico is Cricket, the smaller orange is Sunny, and the orange & white is Tubby. We have TNR'd over 90 cats now and maintain their colonies with food, water, and vet care.

Oh they're all so beautiful!!! Have you had any luck socializing any of them for house cat potential!!! **hugs** to you and your hubby! I'm sure that TNR keeps you quite busy!! It's nice to meet fellow TNR peeps!

Very, very impressive. I applaud your efforts. Wish there were more of you in the world -- it would be a better place.

How do you remember all their names?!? I have enough trouble keeping 3 names straight

I admire you for all you do for those lucky ferals.

Would you believe we have every cat in the park named?! No, we don't get much help with this. We maintain the feeding stations, traps etc. We do work with a local group, www.azcats.org who helped us tremendously trap a large number of cats, but as far as feeding and caring for them, we're on our own. We enjoy it immensely though and will continue this until there are none left in the park. It took us 1 1/2 years to finally catch Cricket (the calico).

Yes some can be socialized, our 15 cats were all feral at one time, some from the park, others from the neighborhood. We just don't have the space for anymore!

Wow, another Tubby! This is the first other Tubby that we've ever heard of. Tubby will be so proud to know that he's got a brother (?) out there in Arizona. And I know he'll be even happier to hear that he is so well taken care of by wonderful cat lovers.

You really do a great service to the cat population. They all look healthy and well.

Kitty #1 does look like my Butter. I hope his attitude is better though!! I'm sure it isn't, since he is feral, but they are all beautiful, and I am so proud to know you, knowing what a wonderful service you are providing for these animals.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
